Three Arrested in Woburn on Drug, Gun Charges

Police say the arrests were made as part of an ongoing investigation.

WOBURN, MA — Two Lawrence Men and one Connecticut man were arrested in Woburn Tuesday on various drug and gun charges, Woburn Police announced Wednesday. Police indicated that the arrests were made in connection with an ongoing investigation.

“I want to commend all officers involved in making these arrests to take these criminals off our streets,” Chief Robert Ferullo said in a statement. “This remains an open and ongoing investigation and the Woburn Police Department will continue to actively combat illegal drug activity in our community.”

As a result of an investigation, police arrested the following three men on Jan. 3.

  • Juan E. Aponte, 23, of Lawrence is charged with distributing a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate the drug law, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a firearm with a defaced serial number in a felony and conspiracy (firearms charges)
  • Jonathan Baez, 23, of Lawrence was charged with distributing a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate the drug law, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a firearm with a defaced serial number in a felony, conspiracy (firearms charges) and a firearm violation with one prior violent/drug crime.
  • Jose A. Rivera-Dejesus, 23, of Bristol, CT, is charged with conspiracy to violate the drug law. Police say Rivera-Dejesus also has two outstanding warrants.

Police further indicated that the investigation is still open and ongoing, and the three suspects were booked and held at the Woburn Police Department pending arraignment in district court.
