Tragedy Strikes, From Woburn To Wellfleet
A plane crash and a shark attack startled an already reeling Bay State Saturday.

While the Merrimack Valley continued recovering and information started to trickle out about this week's chaos, tragedy struck in other parts of the state.
In Woburn, two people from Manhasset, N.Y. were killed when their 2006 Columbia LC41 crashed about 4 miles shy of Hanscom Air Force Base. The small plane crashed in the woods around 11 a.m. No one on the ground was injured, something Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin called a "miracle." The victims have been identified, and one is believed to have been an experienced pilot. Read the latest here.
In Wellfleet, a 26-year-old Revere man became the first shark attack fatality in Massachusetts in more than eight decades. Arthur Medici died Saturday after being bitten by a shark off Newcomb Hollow Beach around noon. There had not been a fatal shark attack in the state since 1936, when a 16-year-old was killed in the waters off Mattapoisett. Read the latest here.
