UberEats Now Delivering In Burlington And Woburn
The company, which only began serving Boston in April, is stepping up its expansion into the suburbs.

WOBURN, MA -- UberEats, the food delivery unit of the popular ride-hailing app, is now delivering to customers in Burlington and Woburn. The two towns are among the first in Uber's suburban expansion of the service, which was launched in Boston in late April. Delivery started earlier this month after Uber reached out to a handful of restaurants to serve as initial partners.
The service works much like the company's ride-hailing app, which has upended the traditional taxi cab business model. Users download an app to their smartphone, choose a restaurant to order from, then pay with a stored credit card. The app even offers the mapping feature from its ride-hailing app so users can watch a car icon approach their delivery destination.
UberEats collects a booking fee for the delivery service. The booking fee varies by area, but also fluctuates depending on how busy it is in a given area.

When the service initially launched in April, it was only offered in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Malden, Everett, Chelsea, Medford, and Brookline. But the company -- which is known for aggressive growth -- has plans to expand the reach of the service to cover the entire greater Boston area. The service limits ordering to nearby restaurants to maintain food quality and safety standards -- you cannot, for example, get your favorite Boston Chinese food delivered to your home in Woburn.
Among the restaurants offering UberEats delivery in Burlington and Woburn are Osteria Nino, My Brother's Place, Pizza Days, Singh Ching, Dharani, Godavari Indian Restaurant, Zaika, On the Border, Lester's Roadside BBQ, Schoolhouse Ice Cream Shop, Central Grill, First House Pub, Amore Pizza in Stoneham, Sakura, Fusion Taste, China Sky, Kushala Sip Coffee House, Olympia Grille, Sato II and Central Grill.
