Victims, Woburn Driver Identified In Deadly Maine Crash

A 46-year-old Woburn woman survived Saturday afternoon's crash, which was the deadliest in Maine in at least three years.

WOBURN, MA -- Hope Stamps, a 46-year-old Woburn woman, was one of four people to suffer injuries in a Saturday afternoon crash in Berwick, ME that left four people dead. Stamps was driving on Route 4 when Robert Howard, 31, of Buxton, ME, tried to make an improper pass from the opposite travel lane. Howard lost control of his vehicle, which slid into the car Stamps was driving.

Howard and his passengers -- 29-year-old Kevin Clark of North Berwick, ME, and 7-year-old Davin Clark of North Berwick, ME -- were pronounced dead at the scene. Barbara Allen, 73, of Wells, a passenger in Stamps’ vehicle, was transported to a hospital in Dover, NH, where she later died. Another passenger in Howards car and two from Stamps' car were taken to area hospitals.

None of the survivors sustained life-threatening injuries.The crash, which was the deadliest in Maine in at least three years, remains under investigation.
