Woburn Bar Named One Of The Best In America

WOBURN, MA -- You'd expect a list of the 150 best bars in America to include addresses in new York, Miami, Los Angeles and maybe even Boston. But Woburn? According to the food and drinking Website The Daily Meal, that is indeed the case: the site named The Baldwin and Sons Trading Company the 120th best bar in the country.

The bar is owned by Ron Duan and is on the second floor of the Baldwin Mansion, which, for nondrinkers, is locally best known as the home of Sichuan Garden, the Chinese restaurant Duan's parents operate on the first floor. The bar has just 45 seats and is only open Thursday through Sunday. The Daily Meal gave high praise to Duan's ability to concoct a creative cocktail.

"The names of the cocktails are almost as creative as their ingredients; the Time of Opportunity features Suntory Toki whiskey, matcha, coconut, banana, lime, egg whites, sesame, and tajín (a Mexican spice mixture), while the Two Roads Diverged serves two guests with Greenhook plum gin mixed with jade oolong and Maurin Rouge and infused with strawberry, cucumber, and lemon," Daily Meal said.

It's not the first national accolade for Baldwin and Sons: last year Esquire magazine named it to its list of best bars in America.
