Woburn Center Watering Hole to Close After 12 Years in Business
The Main Street bar and eatery will be closing its doors at the end of the month.

WOBURN, MA — After 12 years in business, a Woburn staple will be shutting its doors at the end of the month. Tanner Tavern—located at 474 Main Street—will be shuttering its doors on December 29, according to owner Bob Palmer.
Palmer also told Patch that the Tavern is closing due to a family dispute between two brothers, the owner of the business and the owner of the building. He also added that it had become increasingly difficult to compete with corporate restaurants coming into the city.
"Small restaurants and bars don't have much of a chance based on that kind of scenario," Palmer said."The more places that come in, the less market share you can retain."
