Woburn City Council Approves Chick-Fil-A Proposal

City Council voted Tuesday night to approve a proposal for a Chick-Fil-A restaurant at the W.R. Grace site in East Woburn.

WOBURN, MA—Washington St. is likely going to be home to a Chick-Fil-A restaurant after a City Council vote Tuesday night.

During its meeting Tuesday, Woburn City Council voted 6-3 in favor of a proposal with conditions, which would bring a drive-thru Chick-Fil-A restaurant to the W.R. Grace site in East Woburn. Ward Four Alderman Michael Anderson, Alderman At-Large Michael Concannon and Ward 5 Alderman Darlene Mercer-Bruen represented the opposing votes.

The vote yielded the same result as last Wednesday's Special Permits committee meeting, in which City Council members voted as a committee of the whole in favor of the proposal.
