Woburn Council of Social Concern Food Pantry is 'Desperately Low on Food'

The food pantry is seeking donations of several necessary food items for Woburn and Winchester residents as we head into the colder months.

WOBURN, MA — The Woburn Council of Social Concern Food Pantry has announced that it is 'desperately low on food,' and is seeking donations in preparation for winter.

SCI Woburn announced Wednesday that the food pantry is in need of food in preparation for the colder months when there is a greater need. Donations may be dropped off at the Food Pantry at 2 Merrimac St. in Woburn Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.

The food pantry is completely out of the following items.

  • Mac & Cheese
  • Dried Beans
  • Cake and Brownie Mixes
  • Tuna

The food pantry is also running low on several important items

  • Soups, both condensed and ready to serve
  • Cereal

The food pantry also regularly accepts non-perishable food within date. Here are some suggested donation items.

  • Canned Fruit & Vegetables
  • Canned Lunch (Spaghettios, etc.)
  • Canned Meat (stew, Spam, chili, etc.)
  • Cereal (hot and cold)
  • Condiments
  • Dessert Mixes, Jello, Pudding
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes
  • Jelly
  • Juice
  • Pasta
  • Peanut Butter
  • Powdered Milk
  • Rice/Rice Mixes
  • Soup
  • Snacks (cookies, crackers, etc.)
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Sugar-free, Low-sodium & Fat-free Foods
  • Tuna
