Woburn Coyote Attack Prompts Warning From Police
At least two coyotes attacked and killed a dog in Woburn near Rag Rock Hill Park.
WOBURN, MA — Woburn police are warning residents to not leave smaller pets outside after a dog was attacked and killed by at least two coyotes early Monday morning. The attack took place near the intersection of Valley Road and Harrison Avenue, which is located adjacent to Rag Rock Hill Park. The 10-acre conservation area in west Woburn is popular with visitors, who hike to the top of the hill to take in views of Horn Pond and the Boston skyline.
A post on the Woburn Police Department Facebook page said coyotes are "very active" in the area. "Please do not leave smaller animals outside alone. You are your animal’s best protection," the department said.
