Woburn Trick-Or-Treating Still On, Despite Weather Forecast

We have tips for a safe and happy Halloween!

WOBURN, MA — Woburn does not have official trick or treat hours, but officials recommend the first couple of hours after dark as peak times for trick-or-treating; the sun will set at 5:39 p.m. Thursday. Some communities have ended official trick-or-treating hours at 6 p.m. to account for the risk of the mosquito-born virus EEE. The state board of health lists Woburn as "low risk" for EEE but notes mosquito risk remains until the first hard frost.

The National Weather Service forecasts rain and potential high winds for Thursday evening. The city does not have an official role in trick-or-treating hours, but the mayor's office encourages both trick-or-treaters and drivers to exercise extra caution with any inclement weather.

Woburn Police offer the following trick or treat safety tips. The state fire marshal also has Halloween fire safety tips.
