WOBURN, MA—The time has come for Woburn Memorial High Schoool Students to select their courses for the upcoming year.

The high school announced a new timeline for course selections for the new school year Friday. The schedule for course selection is as follows, according to a Woburn Memorial High School announcement:

Wednesday, March 9th Second period

  • Students will be called down for a brief meeting to go over the course selection book and graduation requirements. They will receive the course selection book at this time.

Wednesday, March 9 – Tuesday March 15

  • Students will discuss appropriate course selection with their parents and current teachers.

Monday, March 14

  • Homeroom period will take place at the start of the school day.
  • During homeroom students will fill out course selection sheets.
  • Students will have current teachers sign teacher approval during the school day.
  • Students will return to homeroom 7th period.
  • Homeroom teachers will collect white copies and instruct students to get the yellow and pink forms signed by a parent and bring it to school the next day.

Tuesday – Friday

March 15 All Freshman will be called out of English classes to meet with their guidance counselor.

  • March 16 All Sophomores will be called out of English to meet with their guidance counselor.
  • March 17 All Juniors will be called out of English to meet with their guidance counselor.
  • March 18 All students who have not met with their guidance counselor will be called to do so.

Friday March 25

  • Firm deadline for all override forms to be into Guidance.


Monday, March 28th thru Thursday, March 31st

  • Missing programs will be completed.
  • Guidance will make override corrections if override is approved.

Tallies of course selections will be distributed to department heads by the end of the day April 4.

Monday, April 4

  • Courses to be dropped will be identified by department heads.

Tuesday, April 5

  • A list of dropped courses will be submitted to Guidance.

Wednesday, April 6 thru Friday, April 8

  • Reassignments will be made.

Wednesday, April 13

  • Finalized teaching assignments are due to the principal.
