DOORS OPEN AT 6:30 PM ~ PROGRAM BEGINS AT 7:00 PM

Take yourself back 100 years ago. There was no television. Radios were not yet perfected. Talking movies were but a dream. Burlesque houses were flourishing but not available or appealing to all. Adults, children and young adults, however, did have an entertainment outlet. It was the silent movie.

The Woburn Historical Society is reviving that era by providing an evening showcasing the contemporary songs and films of that era. Our host will be pianist and entertainer, Richard Hughes. Besides setting the musical tone by playing songs of that period, he will also show vintage silent comedy films with live piano accompaniment. This is a great opportunity for moviegoers of all ages to share in the experience of days gone by.

Movies featuring the “IT” Girl and Laurel and Hardy, cartoons and Movie Tone News will be featured. So, put down that Tablet, turn off that color television and enjoy entertainment from an earlier time.

Admission is free and of course popcorn will be served.
