Woburn, Lexington Churches Merge

The new First Church of Woburn is a non-denominational evangelical Christian church located in Woburn.

From First Congregational Church of Woburn: The historic First Congregational Church of Woburn, the city’s first church, has merged with Saint Mark Evangelical Church of Lexington to form a new church.

Last year, members of both churches voted to form a new church called First Church of Woburn. First Church of Woburn is a non-denominational evangelical Christian church located in the heart of Woburn center at 322 Main Street.

“We are blessed to come together as one Christian family to serve the Lord,” said Senior Pastor George Saraceno. “We encourage everyone to join us to learn about God’s love and His wonderful plans for the lives of his followers.” (see Jeremiah 29:11)

History

The First Church of Woburn was established the same year as the City of Woburn in 1642. That Church, in turn, was founded on the Eternal Rock, Jesus Christ. On January 8, 2017, Woburn held its 375 Anniversary at the First Church of Woburn for a historic and interfaith
celebration. Today First Church of Woburn remains founded on our savior, Jesus Christ. We invite you to experience the same transforming power of God’s grace, peace, and love through Jesus Christ our Lord. We believe that you will truly be blessed by God
at First Church of Woburn.
