Drunk Woburn Driver Hits 2 People At Applebee's: PD
William Barry, 74, was accused of accelerating through a parking space and striking two people, seriously injuring one.
WOBURN, MA — A 74-year-old Woburn man was arrested Sunday after police said was drunkenly driving into people in the Applebee's parking lot. William Barry faces charges of operating under the influence causing serious bodily injury and operating after registration revocation.
Woburn Police Chief Robert Rufo said Barry accelerated through a parking space and struck the ramp of a pedestrian railing, pinning the man against the restaurant and knocking the woman to the ground. Both victims were brought to the hospital; the woman suffered serious injuries.
Police said Barry was drunk at the time.

Barry was released on bail pending his arraignment Monday in Woburn District Court.
