Woburn Man Wins $1 Million Massachusetts Lottery Prize

WOBURN, MA — A Woburn man won $1 million from the Massachusetts State Lottery. Matthew Rourke won a grand prize in the Lottery’s “The Fastest Road to $1 Million” instant ticket game, the Lottery recently announced. Rourke chose the cash lump sum option and received a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes.

Rourke said he plans to use his winnings to pay down debt and invest.

He purchased his winning ticket at a Stop & Shop in Malden. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

There are 54 more $1 million prizes to be claimed in the "Fastest Road to $1 Million" game, which costs $30.
