Woburn Native Named as National Hispanic Scholar

The Arlington Catholic student from Woburn was one of over 5,000 students nationwide to receive the honor.

WOBURN, MA — An Arlington Catholic student from Woburn has received an honor given to just over 5,000 students nationwide.

James Cordero of Woburn was named as a 2016-2017 National Hispanic Scholar by the National Hispanic Recognition Program. The program honors more than 5,000 academically outstanding students from more than 250,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who take the PSAT/NMSQT. Students with a cumulative junior year grade-point average of 3.5 or higher are designated.
