Woburn Plans for Several Green Energy Projects

Woburn recently received a $242,000 grant to support clean energy projects.

Woburn recently received a $242,000 grant to support clean energy projects. The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources awarded $8.9 million between 51 communities.

Woburn has plans to carry out several green energy upgrades across the city. Upgrades are planned for five schools, the senior center, and police station. The City is eying energy management upgrades, the installation of energy efficient lighting and HVAC changes.

Because Woburn has taken many steps in the past to expand their use of renewable energy, they are known as a “green community.”
