Woburn Public Media Center awards two scholarships.

WMHS seniors Michael Srajer and Tyler Movsessian have been awarded $500 each.

Michael Srajer has taken the Television Production classes and has been involved in the technical crew for all four years at Woburn Memorial High School.  Mike has volunteered his time many nights to run lights and sound in the booth in the auditorium for plays, bands and Woburn Historical Society presentations.  He has also helped Woburn Public Media Center (WPMC) to film events around the city, from sports to Memorial Day ceremonies on the common.  Mike will be attending UMass Amherst in the fall.

Tyler Movsessian has been involved in the daily live broadcast of the high school morning announcements that originate from the media center for all four years of his high school career.  He has volunteered as technical producer as well as on-air talent when needed.  He has always performed his tasks confidently and with a positive attitude.  Tyler will also be attending UMass Amherst in the fall.

Brian Ouellette, executive director of Woburn Public Media Center, has commented that “Both students are passionate about what they do and have excelled not only in television production but as respected leaders with positive attitudes.  They epitomize what our scholarship and mission stand for at WPMC and we wish them all the best in the future.”
