Woburn Restaurants: Mike's Pizza Plans to Open at Old Breaker's Location

Mike's Pizza's prospective location was last occupied by Kravings.

WOBURN, MA—Woburn may soon be home to another pizza joint.

Mike’s Pizza has applied for a special permit at the old Breaker’s site on Winn Street, according to a report by The Daily Times Chronicle. The site located at 106 Winn Street was formerly occupied by Kravings.

Gordon Vincent, who broke the story on the Daily Times Chronicle’s website, reports:

Mike’s Pizza will be trying to make a go of it at a prime location, though several restaurants before it have not succeeded.

Originally the site of Tracy’s Auto Body, the site was converted to Breakers Billiards, with an accessory ice cream use. In 2005, the billiards portion of the building was converted to Krazy Karry’s Backyard Grill, which lasted for three years before it was changed to Flighty’s, and then late in 2008 to Kravings, which apparently closed earlier this year.

Throughout the various restaurant iterations, the ice cream stand has remained and is still popular.

Mike’s Pizza is required to obtain a special permit since the original Krazy Karry’s permit carried with it a non-transferability component, with the fast food use.

Woburn City Council will hear Mike’s Pizza’s petition on Wednesday and a public hearing will likely be held in Feb., according to the report.
