Woburn's Maloney Leads Malden Catholic to Super 8 Win

Local resident Connor Maloney, a goaltender for Division 1A state champion Malden Catholic, won a title for the second straight season as the Lancers won their third straight.

Connor Maloney had a tough start to the Division 1A boys hockey state championship. But the Woburn resident bounced back quite nicely.

Though the Malden Catholic senior goalie let up a goal to Austin Prep just 14 seconds into the game, he made a huge save just seconds later and buckled down to help lead the Lancers to a third straight Super 8 championship on Sunday at TD Garden.

It was the second straight season that Malone was in net for Malden Catholic after transferring from BC High.
