Woburn Schools Take Step Towards Head Of The Class

A new, comprehensive ranking says Woburn offers the 88th best public school system in Massachusetts.

WOBURN, MA -- The turnaround of the Woburn Public School System continues, with a new set of rankings suggesting that efforts to right the school system are paying off. Niche released its rankings of the school districts in the state, and Woburn checked in at 88th out of 218 public school districts in Massachusetts.

The school research and data company also said the school system was the 35th safest in the state and the 54th most diverse. Niche gave Woburn Public Schools an overall letter grade of A-, including a A+ for health and safety, an A- for quality of teachers and an A- for college prep and overall academics. "The teachers that treated us more like people as equals....made class everyday a pleasure," one Woburn Memorial High School senior wrote in reviews solicited by Niche.

Niche data analysts use data and user opinions to come up with their rankings for school districts. Data range from test scores to teacher salaries to attendance rates to provide one of the more comprehensive school system rankings.
