Woburn Students Get 'Punny' During The Storm
While some school systems try to avoid conversing with students regarding snow day status, others make a game out of it.
WOBURN, MA—As opposed to limiting conversation with students related to a potential snow day like many other districts do, the Woburn Superintendent's office decided to make a game out of it.
Through its Twitter account, Woburn Public Schools issued this challenge to students.
Students: If you tweet about the snow, don't be lame, whiny, or dramatic. But CLEVER or FUNNY tweets will get you in the Supt Hall of Fame.

The students later responded accordingly, vying for a spot in the vaunted Superintendent's Hall of Fame.
@berishalex @WoburnSchools icy what you did there

@WoburnSchools I kinda have a test tomorrow so if it's snow problem I'd like to slip out of it

@WoburnSchools Mr. Donovan snows what he's talking about.

Even some of the staff got in on the fun.
@WuBirdieCrew @WoburnSchools I assume we can contribute, so long as our banter doesn't 'precipitate' any fights!!! pic.twitter.com/nTCeOOzefY

@Mr_Gangis_World @WoburnSchools all "rains" eventually come to an end
— Ben Bridgeo (@WuBirdieCrew) March 20, 2016
Eventually, the Superintendent's office may have realized that they opened Pandora's box.
Ok. The snow puns are accumulating at an alarming rate. Sometimes I wish Twitter came with white-out.

Eventually, a winner was announced, but her tweet is currently unavailable to privacy settings. Unfortunately, the students did not get their wish, and returned to school Monday on a two-hour delay.
