Woburn Woman Charged with OUI

When police asked the woman if she had been drinking, she allegedly replied, "Yeah, it's Sunday."

A 35-year-old Woburn woman was arrested Sunday afternoon on Main Street in Woburn Center and charged with operating under the influence.

Erin K. Hegge, of 12 Chester Ave., was also charged with operation of a motor vehicle with license suspended (subsequent offense), having an unregistered motor vehicle and an uninsured motor vehicle, police said.

At about 3:30 p.m., police received a report of a car driving erratically on Main Street and then a call of a car crash.

Hegge allegedly rear-ended a parked car while parking near the intersection of Main and Campbell streets.

Police said when an officer asked Hegge if she had been drinking, she responded, “Yeah, it’s Sunday.”

Hegge appeared to be intoxicated at the scene and failed field sobriety tests at the scene, according to police. She refused a breath test at the station.

Police allegedly found three bottles of Fireball Whiskey, an open beer can and a small marijuana cigarette in her vehicle.
