At this year’s most prestigious cheerleading competition in Orlando, FL, East Celebrity Elite C5, Medium Coed Team from Tewksbury, MA and Woburn’s own, Mallorie Mullaney, earned their first-ever WORLD championship taking home the GOLD medal. Over 5,000 spectators filled the HP Field House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Walt Disney World for the Medium Coed Finals held on Monday night. With a packed house, 10 teams from across the country battled it out with some of the best choreography we’ve ever seen. This truly was a battle for the ages.
Mallorie has been an All-Star Cheerleader for almost 13 years and to finally achieve the GOLD pretty much completes her career. In 2013 as member of a J5, a team with elite athletes all under the age of 14, Mallorie took home the National title along with the prestigious “Black jacket” at NCA Dallas, but just over 2 years later the GOLD medal was finally around her neck.
As the top three teams were announced, Mallorie realized that after all these years of dedication, hard work, injuries and complete exhaustion her dream finally came true!
