Would-Be Burglar Gets Maced: Burlington Police Log October 25-31

Here are some of the calls Burlington Police responded to this week.

BURLINGTON, MA -- The following are items recorded by Burlington Police Department. It is a sample of the types of calls the Burlington Police responded to between October 25 and 31. Saturday, October 28: At 9:44 pm police arrested John Robert Mosley, 29, of Burlington and charged him with distribution of class A drugs.

Wednesday, October 25

9:29 am: Caller requests well-being check on her friend. Party transported to Lahey Hospital.

10:40 am: Animal crying behind caller's house since last night.

2:20 pm: Caller reports her alarm is going off and she is unsure on how to turn it off.

10:02 pm: Unknown vehicle sitting in caller's driveway. Driver ran out of gas.

Thursday, October 26

6:35 am: Homeless man sleeping in office building on Middlesex Avenue. Verbally warned of trespassing; man was cooperative and said he would not return.

11:15 am: Caller reports someone has taken the refrigerator, stove and microwave from his house which is under construction. Items stolen sometime during the day on 10-25-17. estimated value of approximately $4000.00. No forced entry.

4:59 pm: Narcotics search of a motor vehicle at Felton and Harvard.

5:13 pm: Caller reports they know who stole appliances from their residence. See call at 11:15 am.

6:03 pm: In progress B&E on Harriett. Caller reports male party tried to break in and she maced him.

Friday, October 27

8:43 am: Caller from Residence Inn reports employee had property stolen from her locker sometime yesterday. Wedding band and debit card stolen sometime between 1 pm and 4 pm on 10/26/17.

10:53 am: Owner of Twin Landscaping reports a male party in a black pickup truck took a leaf blower from the back of his landscaping truck while his workers were in the rear of the building doing a job. Red Max back pack blower was on the front lawn, a black -- possibly a Ford -- pickup truck with two white males stopped and stole the blower valued at $750. Truck fled north on 3A toward Billerica.

11:39 am: DPW worker reports a truck matching the description of the truck we were looking for earlier for the theft of the leaf blower may be parked on Peach Orchard Rd. Truck on Beverbrook Rd was maroon in color, Twin Landscaping employee is positive the truck is black in color. Officer called victim by phone and confirmed the color of the suspect truck as black. Witness to the theft of the blower said he only got a glimpse of the suspect from a distance and will not be able to identify him. Officer checked the maroon truck and found no blower.

12:46 pm: Loose dog found by owner.

2:37 pm: Four-car crash on Route 128 South. Medical attention declined by all operators and passengers. One vehicle towed.

2:57 pm: Caller reports his upstairs neighbor is dumping water down his toilet causing him distress.

Saturday, October 28

10:50 am: Caller reports ongoing issue with neighbor and claims he is out taking pictures and told her to put some clothes on. Both involved parties already have a court date set in regards to the property line. Both advised to avoid each other.

4:57 pm: Chelmsford Police report arresting shoplifter and it's possible they may have stolen credit cards belonging to a Burlington resident. Attempted to make contact with resident. It appears nobody is home at this time.

6:46 pm: North Reading PD requesting a well being check on a male and female party who may have been involved in a domestic disturbance incident. Same were dealt with in a previous call. Parties were escorted into the Lahey Clinic ER and under the care of Lahey staff. Officers reported they checked ok. Spoke to male party involved and parties agreed to meet at North Reading PD to resolve an outstanding issue.

Sunday, October 29

1:12 pm: Caller asks for police assistance in removing possible drug paraphernalia from her lawn.

5:57 pm: Walk-in party stated he fired an employee and found out he was stealing form the company. Female party scammed out of approximately $240. Approximately $450 fraudulently used by company card as well.

6:28 pm: Caller from Burlington ice Palace requests presence for hockey game getting out of control. Coach and referee dispute, stood by until both parties left.

10:41 pm: Tree down, blocking Beaverbrook Road.

11:05 pm: Large branch down on road near Market Basket.

11:36 pm: Tree blocking Winn Street near American legion.

Monday, October 30

12:045 am - 1:35 pm: Police responded to 25 storm-related calls, including downed limbs and flooded roadways, as well as downed electrical wires.

11:25 am: Baby locked in car.

7:43 pm: Resident reported items were stolen from the bed of his truck.

10:03 pm: Alarm at Sears. Mall Security called to inform us there is an employee locked in store.

Tuesday, October 31

12:48 am: Caller reports hearing some sort of moaning noise coming from the back yard. Unsure if it is an animal or decoration. Discovered two cats in the backyard making crying noises, but left upon arrival.

10:44 am: Caller reports several items of her jewelry are missing form her room. Resident of Stonebridge reports sometime within the last two weeks, numerous pieces of jewelry missing from her apartment.

10:48 am: Caller received an email from a friend's hacked account requesting money to help them return home from a business trip overseas. Caller spoke with friend and confirmed it was not from her. AOL has been contacted by friend to fix the issue.

1:04 pm: Caller reports an attempted B&E into the home.

4:14 pm: Caller reports turkey hit by a car and is injured in her yard.

6:46 pm: Caller reports group of six or so male pre-teens are roaming the parking lot of Shaw's with eggs. Group agreed it would be best to discard the items, and were sent on their way.
