2 Arrested for Heroin Trafficking in Worcester

A Vice Squad raid leads to arrests, with two from Worcester in possession of 38 grams of heroin.

WORCESTER, MA—Two are facing charges after police found 38 grams of heroin in a Worcester home.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad, warrant in hand, raided an apartment in Worcester. They found two people lying on the bed in the apartment: Matthew McCourt, 34, Forbes St., and Summer Igoe, 37, Grafton Street.

Police found McCourt frantically stuffing something down the front of his pants. Once the two people were secured, police were able to recover 12 individually knotted bags of heroin from McCourt. Police then conducted a thorough search of the remainder of the apartment. The search revealed 17 knotted bags of heroin from the bedroom, said police. Additionally, police located 100 knotted bags of heroin in the hallway closet of the apartment. The total weight of the seized heroin was 38 grams.

Both McCourt and Igoe were placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking in a Class A Substance 36-99 grams and Possession of a Class A Substance w/ the Intent to Distribute.
