2 People Rescued After Fire Breaks Out At Worcester Home

Firefighters rescued two people from the third story of a Worcester home Sunday night, according to reports.

WORCESTER, MA — Two people were rescued after a fire broke out at a three-story home in Worcester on Sunday night, according to reports. Firefighters responded to the call reporting a fire at 1 Cohasset St. at about 8 p.m.

They arrived to find four people trapped on the third floor with flames showing through windows on the second and third floors, as well as the attic, NBC 10 Boston reported.

The two people on the third floor were rescued using fire ladders and transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Firefighters were ordered out of the building due to a partial collapse and began a defensive attack, according to NBC 10 Boston.

It took firefighters about an hour to get the blaze under control. The building suffered extensive smoke and water damage throughout, WCVB-5 ABC reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
