30-Year-Old Man Faces Charges for Allegedly Stabbing Mom in the Back
A mother was allegedly stabbed by her son after an argument ensued.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man is facing several charges after he allegedly stabbed his mother in the back.
On Thursday, Oct. 6, around 1:48 a.m., Worcester police responded to a stabbing that was reported on Terrace Drive. A man, later identified as a 30-year-old resident, answered the door and directed officers to the 52-year-old female who had been stabbed in the lower back. Conscious and alert, she sat on the kitchen floor holding a towel to her wound, and was being assisted by a 28-year-old woman who also lived there.
The victim said she had been stabbed by her son, the same person who answered the door when police arrived. Earlier that night, the son had been drinking with a friend at the house, she told police. When the friend left, she and her son got into a verbal argument as the son held a knife and swung it around. The woman said she started walking out of the room when she felt a sharp pain to her lower back. She realized she had been stabbed and ran to the 28-year-old female's bedroom and yelled at her to call police. The woman, who is not a family member, helped the victim with her wound.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, and her wound is non-life threatening. The victim is in good condition and released after receiving several sutures.
Officers at the scene placed the son under arrest. He was charged with Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (knife) and Armed Assault to Murder. Due to the current domestic laws the name of the suspect will not be released at this time.
The suspect will be arraigned Thursday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
