After Blizzard, Worcester Still Below 'Normal' Snow Levels
Worcester got about 15 inches during the weekend blizzard, but our winter total is still below par.

WORCESTER, MA — One year ago, Worcester was ranked the No. 1 snowiest city in the U.S. by Golden Snow Globe, which tracks snow totals in cities with populations over 100,000.
Now, Worcester is struggling to reach average snow levels — even after the weekend blizzard dropped about 15 inches on the city.
According to the National Weather Service, Worcester has seen about 32 inches of snow so far this winter. In an average year, the city would be above 35 inches. The lower-than-usual total can be chalked up to a warmer start to winter, with no real snowfall until a storm on Jan. 7.
As of Monday, Worcester was ranked the No. 10 snowiest city in the U.S. on the Golden Snow Globe list. The city has seen roughly the same amount of snow as Providence, Spokane, Wash., and Akron, Ohio.
And it doesn't look like we'll see any more accumulation, at least not this week. The forecast calls for temperatures to rise above 40 by midweek, with rain or a wintry mix coming on Thursday and Friday.
