A Worcester man faces drug distribution charges, as well as charges for possession of cocaine and a firearm.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man is facing multiple charges after police found him with heroin, cocaine and a firearm.
On Wednesday, July 20, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad investigated a Worcester man known to be involved in the distribution of heroin. Vice investigators obtained information that a man, later identified as Carlos Valdez, 31, Sheridan Street and Henry Terrace, Worcester, would be at a Fairbanks Street apartment Wednesday afternoon making a delivery of heroin.
Vice investigators had set up surveillance at the Fairbanks Street location while other undercover officers set up surveillance at the Henry Terrace Apartment Complex, said police.

Investigators also reportedly recovered two cell phones and $556 in cash. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.
Based on their findings, investigators obtained a search warrant for an apartment at Henry Terrace.
The search produced a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun, 2 large capacity magazines loaded with 9mm ammunition and an additional 56 grams of heroin, one small plastic cut corner bag containing heroin, one small plastic cut corner bag containing cocaine and personal paperwork in Valdez’s name, according to a police press release.
Valdez was charged with Possession of a High Capacity Firearm, 2 Counts of Possession of a High Capacity Magazine, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of a Firearm without a License, Possession of a Firearm while in the Commission of a Felony, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Trafficking in Heroin Between 28-99 Grams, and Possession of a Class B Substance.
