WORCESTER, MA — A brand-new restaurant serving up gourmet burgers and more is coming to Worcester.

Halal Buns is expected to open at 11 Kelley Square in the city. Its owner, Fayyaz Bhinde, went before the Worcester License Commission on Apr. 2 to secure a Common Victualer license, which was unanimously approved.

The eatery, which already operates one location in New Britain, CT, will serve burgers.

"We do grass-fed and Wagyu Australian beef, never frozen," Bhinde said. "We also have chicken sandwiches, that's hormone and antibiotic-free."

The menu will also feature loaded fries and milkshakes, Bhinde said.

Halal Buns will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m., and until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

It will be located in the former home of a Middle Eastern restaurant, Golden Pockets, which is now closed for business, according to its website.

The four-story building with the restaurant on the first floor and four apartments above was sold in December 2025, according to the Worcester Business Journal.
