The musical comedy follows Harold Hill, a fast-talking traveling salesman who cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he claims he will organize despite not knowing a trombone from a treble clef. His plan to skip town with the money is complicated when he falls for Marian, the town librarian.

The family-friendly production features classic songs including “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Ya Got Trouble,” “Till There Was You,” “Pick-a-Little” and “Gary, Indiana.”

The new production is directed by Matt Lenz, with choreography by Emmy Award winner and Tony nominee Joshua Bergasse. Scenic design is by Ann Beyersdorfer, video design by Lisa Renkel and lighting design by Tony Award winner Ken Billington. The production will also feature Broadway costumes designed by Tony Award winner Santo Loquasto.

Tickets are on sale here, through The Hanover Theatre box office, online at TheHanoverTheatre.org or by calling 877-571-7469.

Meanwhile, some other stars are headed to Worcester this year.

Comedian Bert Kreischer is bringing his "Permission to Party World Tour" to Central Massachusetts, with a stop at The Hanover Theatre. The show, which is set for Nov. 14 at 7 p.m., is part of newly added dates extending the tour through the end of 2026.

Plus, "America's Got Talent" finalist Gina Brillon will perform as a comedy show at the BrickBox Theater on May 8.
