WORCESTER, MA — Worcester Public Schools is celebrating a major milestone in educational technology after one of its teachers became the district’s 100th Google Certified Trainer.
Kelsey Dilling of Belmont Street Community School earned her Google Trainer Certification, the school district announced on Tuesday.
To mark the achievement, members of the Office of Innovation visited Belmont Street Community School during Teacher Appreciation Week to surprise Dilling with Google-themed swag and recognize the growing impact of Worcester’s iTeacher program across the district.
Google Certified Trainers are educators who complete a rigorous certification process that demonstrates advanced skills with Google for Education tools and a commitment to helping other teachers integrate technology into the classroom. Trainers often lead professional development sessions, coach fellow educators and share strategies for using digital tools to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
In WPS, those educators are known as iTeachers, innovative teacher leaders who support colleagues both within their own schools and across the district. The program focuses on helping teachers expand their use of technology to create more interactive lessons, strengthen communication and better support students in an increasingly digital learning environment.
WPS said the certification milestone reflects Worcester’s ongoing investment in educational technology and teacher leadership. The district said it now has the most Google Certified Trainers in the country.
“Congratulations to all our iTeachers,” the district said in a statement celebrating the accomplishment. “We are proud to share that Worcester has the most Google Certified Trainers in the country.”
