FITCHBURG, MA — One lucky lottery player in Worcester County had a major payday over the weekend after a six-figure winning ticket was sold in Fitchburg.
A $100,000-winning ticket was purchased Saturday at Super Mart, at 7 Westminster St. in Fitchburg, from the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Mass Cash” game.
To win, players must match three or more of their five chosen numbers to the numbers drawn. Matching all five numbers earns the game’s top prize of $100,000.
The odds of winning the top prize in Mass Cash are one in 324,632, according to the State Lottery. Drawings are held daily.
The Massachusetts State Lottery did not identify the winner. Retailers that sell winning tickets typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.
The Fitchburg win comes less than a week after another $100,000 ticket was sold in Worcester County, this time in Westborough.
Meanwhile, two other prizes worth more than $100,000 were sold in Massachusetts on the same day, including tickets in Fall River and Mendon.
