WORCESTER, MA — One of the city's most popular food events will return to Shrewsbury Street this week, offering residents the chance to sample restaurants without breaking the bank.
Taste of Shrewsbury Street will return on Thursday from 5 to 11 p.m., with food tastings from 6 to 9 p.m. The event, hosted by The Shrewsbury Street Merchants Association, takes place along Shrewsbury Street and wristbands are required for samples at participating restaurants.
Participating businesses include 111 Chop House, Aelux Lounge, Basil n’ Spice Thai Cuisine, Boulevard Diner, Cafe Reyes, Flying Rhino Cafe & Watering Hole, Funky Murphy’s Bar and Grille, La Scala Ristorante, Meze Estiatorio, Nuovo, Pepe’s Italian Restaurant, Pho Sure, Via Italian Table, Vintage Grille & Gourmet Pizza, Volturno and Wormtown Brewery.
To participate, you can purchase wristbands in advance online for $25, while day-of wristbands will cost $30 at pickup locations, including Vintage Grille & Gourmet Pizza, Sonoma Restaurant at the Beechwood, and Wormtown Brewery.
A wristband gives attendees access to unlimited samples at participating restaurants from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event will take place rain or shine, according to organizers. Shrewsbury Street will remain open to traffic during the festival.
Street parking, public garages and some parking lots will be available, according to organizers. Free parking at Sonoma Restaurant at the Beechwood will also be available for wristband pickup or purchase, with a complimentary shuttle to Shrewsbury Street.
