Overnight Vehicle Thefts Target Infiniti Owners In Worcester

Worcester police are warning residents about a recent increase in overnight vehicle thefts involving Infiniti models.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police are warning residents about a recent increase in overnight vehicle thefts involving Infiniti models.

Since June, there have been five reported thefts of Infiniti Q50 and Q60 vehicles in Worcester, according to a Thursday community awareness bulletin from the Worcester Police Department. The thefts happened overnight in different parts of the city.

Police said the suspects gained entry to the vehicles by breaking a window or the sunroof. In some cases, offenders were able to program a new key fob.

Owners of Infiniti Q50 and Q60 vehicles are being encouraged to park in well-lit areas, use a steering wheel lock or other visible anti-theft device and keep key fobs away from vehicles to help prevent relay attacks, according to police.

Residents should report any suspicious activity to police.
