Worcester Man Arrested Following Months-Long Sexual Assault Investigation

Police said he was arrested following an investigation into a sexual assault reported in July.

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man is facing charges following an investigation into a sexual assault reported in Auburn in July, police said.

Franklin Nuahn, 36, was located in Worcester on Thursday and arrested by Auburn police detectives with assistance from Worcester police, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Auburn detectives reviewed video evidence, interviewed witnesses and collected forensic evidence during the investigation, police said.

Nuahn was booked at the Auburn Police Department before being taken to Worcester District Court for arraignment. Police said he was held on $5,000 bail.

Police did not identify the specific charges against Nuahn in the announcement.

"The Auburn Police Department takes reports of sexual assault and other crimes of violence extremely seriously. Our officers and detectives understand the courage it can take for a victim to come forward, and we are committed to conducting thorough investigations while treating victims with dignity, compassion, and respect throughout the process," police wrote in the announcement.
