Beloved 'Dancing With The Stars' Couple Coming To Worcester

WORCESTER, MA — A dance partnership that began on Broadway is coming full circle on a Worcester stage next spring.

Dancing with the Stars professionals Maksim "Maks" Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd will lead Burn the Floor Presents Maks & Peta Live! at The Hanover Theatre on May 5, 2027. The 7:30 p.m. performance will combine ballroom and Latin choreography with athletic performances and the energy of a rock concert.

Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd met during Burn the Floor's Broadway run at the Longacre Theatre in 2009. They married in 2017 and have three sons.

"This is where our story began," Chmerkovskiy said in a statement. "Now, to come full circle and share the stage again is something I'm incredibly excited about."

The new production will feature international dance champions performing styles ranging from the Waltz and Foxtrot to the Tango, Paso Doble, Cha Cha, Samba and Rumba.

Chmerkovskiy appeared on 17 seasons of Dancing with the Stars and won the Mirrorball Trophy with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis in 2014. Murgatroyd competed on 15 seasons and won twice, with former NFL player Donald Driver and model Nyle DiMarco.

Burn the Floor began in 1997 and has toured 180 cities in 30 countries, according to the production. Its performances blend competitive ballroom technique with contemporary staging, live music and theatrical choreography.

The theater recommends the show for ages 8 and older. All-in ticket prices range from $49 to $79 depending on seat location, according to The Hanover Theatre. Member ticket sales are scheduled to begin Oct. 7, followed by public sales Oct. 9.
