WORCESTER COUNTY, MA — A Worcester County man won a major lottery prize this week.
Dylan Roy of East Brookfield won a $2 million grand prize from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "$2,000,000 Stacked" scratch-off game. He purchased the winning ticket at Speedway, 57 West Main St. in Spencer.
Roy chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $1.3 million before taxes. He told the state lottery commission that he plans to invest the winnings.
To win the scratch-off game, a player must match any of their numbers to any winning number. The odds of winning a $2 million grand prize are 1 in 792,000.
While four grand prizes have already been claimed, the state lottery commission says ten $2 million prizes remain unclaimed for this game.
The Speedway store that sold the ticket will receive a $20,000 bonus for its sale.
Another large lottery prize was claimed on a ticket sold in Worcester County on Monday. The winning $200,000 ticket was purchased at K J Barrons Fine Wine & Spirit, 730 W. Boylston St., in Worcester. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "$15,000,000 Magnificent Millions" scratch-off game.
The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a daily list of winning tickets sold throughout the state on its website. You can find it here.
