Anna Maria College’s New Master in Social Work Accepting Applications for Fall 2017
Anna Maria College announced today that its Master in Social Work degree program is actively enrolling students for the Fall 2017 semester

Anna Maria College announced today that its Master in Social Work degree program is actively enrolling students for the Fall 2017 semester after having been granted approval to start the program by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council of Higher Education (CHEA). Students will now have the opportunity to participate in a full or part-time program that will run on week nights and weekends.
“We are extremely excited to move forward with the Council on Social Work Education to provide students with a Master in Social Work program,” said President Mary Lou Retelle of Anna Maria College. “Our approach to social work gives students the exposure necessary to apply their skills throughout the entirety of the program, whether in the field or in the classroom. We have had the pleasure of educating over 1,000 students in our Bachelor of in Social Work degree and look forward to continue their education with our master program.”
The curriculum is uniquely designed as students take classes while doing concurrent fieldwork. Students are placed in a variety of social service agencies throughout central Massachusetts, allowing them to apply what they learn, not at the end of the program, but during the course of the program. The field work gives the students the opportunity to work with diverse populations and a variety of issues, better preparing them for their professional careers.
Anna Maria College’s Master in Social Work program trains students for Advanced Generalist roles in a variety of areas of interest which include Administration in Social Work, School Social Work, Teen Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, Medical Social Work, Psychiatric Social Work, Child Welfare Services, Geriatrics, Hospice and Crisis Centers.
Applications for Fall 2017 are now being accepted until July 15. The Master in Social Work program will be in candidacy until 2020. To learn more about the Masters in Social Work program visit www.annamaria.edu/msw. To apply click here.
