Call for Attempted House Break Leads to Arrest on Gun Charges
One man is facing gun charges after police saw two people leaving the scene of where an attempted break-in had been reported.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man is facing gun charges after police responded to a residence on Duxbury Street of a report of a breaking and entering in progress on Friday, Sept. 9, at 11:24 p.m.
When officers got there, they were informed that two men were attempting to break into an apartment, but weren't successful. Around the back of that building, police saw two men walking away, and asked them to stop.
As officers closed in they noticed that one of the males, identified as Elvis Urena, 27, Cambridge Street, Worcester, was "acting nervous." Urena, police said, avoided eye contact and refused to take his hands out of his pocket, prompting police to fear he may have a weapon.
After a brief frisk of Urena, they found a handgun tucked into his waistband. The weapon, a Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun, was immediately removed by the officer.
A gun license check on Urena showed that he did not have a license to possess the weapon. Urena was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition without an FID Card, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
A search of the second suspect produced negative results.
A check of the apartment revealed no damage to the outside. The apartment remained secure.
Urena was arraigned Monday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
