Charges Dropped Against Santeria Priest in Worcester Grave-Robbing Case
The bones found in the home of a Connecticut man were not consistent with those stolen from Hope Cemetery, officials say.

WORCESTER, MA—There will be no charges against a Connecticut man who was charged in connection with stealing skeletal remains from Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
Felix Delgado, 40, of Bridgeport, describes himself as a Santeria priest, and was arrested on on Feb. 2 after the human remains were stolen from mausoleums in Worcester. NECN reports that since the bones are not consistent from those taken from Hope Cemetery, the charges have been dropped against Delgado. The District Attorney's office told NECN that Delgado was released into custody of Springfield police, and has outstanding warrants there.
It is unknown where the bones came from, and it remains under investigation, reports the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.
Delgado was originally charged with the theft in connection with Amador Medina, 32, of Hartford, after police found remains in Medina's home during a drug investigation. In court records, it indicated that Medina had paid someone to steal the remains.
Medina, who is also referred to as a Santeria priest, is due back in Worcester Superior Court on June 28, and remains held on $100,000 bail, reports NECN.
