Cultural Sector Recovery Grant Gives Boost to Local Nonprofit

A historic investment by the Mass Cultural Council means unrestricted funding for World on Wheels

Monson, MA—Travelnitch has been awarded a one-time $5,600 unrestricted grant thanks to a historic investment by the Mass Cultural Council in the Commonwealth’s cultural sector. The Monson-based nonprofit will use these funds to support its World on Wheels program—a mobile market bringing the wonder of travel to underserved communities across Western Massachusetts.

“COVID brought with it many unforeseen challenges, particularly for smaller nonprofits like ours,” said Amanda Renna, Founder & CEO at Travelnitch. “We are grateful to the Mass Cultural Council and the many advocates who fight so hard to secure critical funding for the cultural sector.”

According to a statement issued by the Mass Cultural Council, these grants support the Agency’s work to “advance economic vitality, support transformational change; and celebrate, preserve, and inspire creativity across all Massachusetts communities.”

Travelnitch was one of 5,218 recipients to benefit from this $51 million pandemic recovery funding initiative. Other Monson-based nonprofits to receive funding are Greene Room Productions and the Monson Arts Council.
