Dangerousness Hearing Scheduled For Man In Connection With Leominster Death

A man has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after a woman was found dead in her home last week.

LEOMINSTER, MA— A dangerousness hearing for a man charged in the death of a 42-year-old woman in a home at 69 Walnut St. Leominster is scheduled for Wednesday, July 19, in Leominster District Court. The hearing had been set for Monday July 17. James P. Vaillancort, 49, Walnut Street, Leominster, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, is being held without bail for that dangerousness hearing on Wednesday.

The death of a 42-year-old woman in a residence at 69 Walnut St. in Leominster is still being investigated, according to police. Police discovered the death on Sunday after being alerted by the resident of the Walnut Street address. Investigators believe the woman died late last week.

Vaillancourt was arrested Sunday and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned yesterday in Leominster District Court and was ordered held without bail pending the dangerousness hearing.
