Missing Boater's Body Found At Dark Brook Reservoir

Doug Flink was reported missing Thursday evening after their boat was seen empty on the water.

AUBURN, MA — A man pulled from Dark Brook Reservoir Friday morning likely fell off his boat on Thursday evening, authorities said.

The man, identified by Auburn police as Doug Flink, was found in about 18 feet of water mid-morning, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.

Flink took a motorboat out on the water around 5 p.m. Thursday. Passersby began calling 911 at around 6 p.m. to report an empty boat floating in the reservoir. Auburn fire crews and state police searched for him until late Thursday night.

An exact cause of death will be made by the medical examiner's office, officials said.

The reservoir is a popular spot for fishing and paddle boats. There's a small public boat launch off of West Street on the south end of the reservoir.
