'We Have Made Progress in the Case:' District Attorney Updates on Marcotte Murder Investigation
District Attorney Joe Early said they are "making progress" in the murder investigation of Vanessa Marcotte.

PRINCETON, MA—Worcester District Attorney Joe Early, Jr. told reporters that "we have made some progress in the case" during an update on the investigation of the murder of Vanessa Marcotte, who was killed while out for a jog in Princeton on Sunday afternoon.
Early said that investigators believe that there was a struggle between Marcotte and her killer, who they believe to be male, that may have resulted in the killer receiving injuries, including scratches, cuts, scrapes and bruises, during the struggle. Authorities ask anyone who has seen a male with these types of injuries that were likely fresh earlier in the week to call the Massachusetts State Police tipline at 508-453-7589.
Investigators are now focusing on a more narrow timeline, and ask that anyone who saw a vehicle on Brooks Station Road in Princeton between the hours of 1-3 p.m. on Sunday to also report this to authorities.
