Douglas Man Arrested In Worcester For Carrying Unlicensed Gun

Following a traffic stop, Worcester Police arrested a Douglas man for carrying an unlicensed firearm.

WORCESTER, MA - A man was arrested in Worcester after police searched a vehicle during a traffic stop and found an unlicensed firearm.

On Feb. 12 around 7 p.m., Worcester Police pulled over a vehicle for speeding on Winthrop Street. One person appeared to be concealing something, so the responding officers ordered the passengers to step out. Upon searching the car, they found a firearm concealed by one of the occupants, Steven Carter, 22, of Douglas.

Carter did not have a valid license to carry a firearm. He was arrested and charged with Carrying a Firearm Without a license, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Possession of Ammunition Without FID (Firearm Identification Card).

According to the news release, the driver of the car was sent a written warning in the mail.
