Driver Dies After Worcester Head-On Collision

The two vehicles collided when a driver moved into oncoming traffic to avoid a parked UPS truck, police said.

WORCESTER, MA — A local man died Thursday evening after a head-on collision along June Street in Worcester, police said.

The collision happened just before 7 p.m. near Mill Street. A 61-year-old man driving a Nissan pulled into oncoming traffic to move around a UPS truck parked along the street, police said.

A 64-year-old man in a Jeep was driving west, and collided with the Nissan in the westbound lane, police said. Both men were conscious at the scene of the crash, police said, but the 64-year-old died later at a local hospital.

Worcester police did not immediately announce any charges related the fatal collision.
