WORCESTER, MA — A 58-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday night after a driver hit him while he was walking along a Lincoln Street sidewalk, according to police.

The collision happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the Brittan Square area. The driver, identified by police as Kathryn Quinn, 46, of Worcester, veered across Lincoln Street and drove onto the sidewalk, according to police. She also knocked over two parking meters and a "no-parking" sign, police said.

The pedestrian was still in the intensive-care unit at a local hospital Friday morning.

Quinn left the scene, and police located her car near her home along Uxbridge Street, they said. She was charged with operating to endanger, driving without a license, leaving the scene of an accident, driving in a sidewalk, and not staying within marked lanes.
