Feds Charge Worcester Man Following Monday Protest
Police say that Vincent Eovacious, 18, was on a rooftop with Molotov cocktails during a disturbance between police and protesters.

WORCESTER, MA — Federal authorities on Wednesday brought charges against a Worcester man who police say was trying use Molotov cocktails during a clash between police and protesters on Monday night.
Vincent Eovacious, 18, has already been charged by Worcester police with attempted arson, disturbing the peace, and attempting to commit a crime. The U.S. Attorney in Boston added to that list, charging Eovacious with civil disorder and unlawful possession of a weapon.
According to police, Eovacious was on top of the roof at 848 Main St. when protesters clashed with riot police Monday night following a peaceful protest over the killing of George Floyd in downtown Worcester. Worcester police say they saw Eovacious tried to light a Molotov cocktail while standing above a line of officers.

Police arrested him later in the night when they caught him walking in the area of May and Main streets. He was carrying a satchel with three bottles filled with gasoline and several lighters police said. Eighteen other people were arrested on Monday during the melee, most of them on charges of disorderly conduct and disturbing the police.

Eovacious could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted on both federal charges. He will be arraigned at federal court in Worcester on Thursday.
